Invalid Addresses

Last Updated January 22nd, 2018 by Matt Ellig

The Officetrax application attempts to geo-locate all Addresses in the application, by which process it determines the latitude and longitude of the address. These values are used when setting up a dispatch for a Work Order, as, if the Location’s address and one or more Service Provider’s addresses are geo-located, you are able to search for available Service Providers within a given radius (mi or km) from the Location.

The Invalid Addresses page displays addresses which could not be geo-located for one reason or another, by the type of record they belong to. You can change which type of record you are viewing by clicking the menu in the top left of the navigation bar and selecting another type.

Common issues that cause an address to not geo-locate include:

  • Not filling out the State/Province
  • Filling out unit numbers, PO boxes, etc. on Address 1 instead of Address 2
  • Spelling mistakes in the address or City
  • Incorrect Zip/Postal Codes

How to correct the issue:

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Under General settings click on Invalid Addresses.
  3. Click on the Record you would like to edit.
  4. Click on the Location button and select Edit.
  5. Make your corrections and save the changes.

Note: It will take Officetrax a few moments to geo-locate the Record again. If successful, it will be removed from the Invalid Addresses page.
