Custom Fields

The Custom Fields area allows you to add additional customized fields to the Contact, Location or Location Asset profiles.


Creating Custom Fields

Creating a new Custom Field:

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Under General Settings go to Custom Fields.
  3. Click the New Custom Field button and fill out the required fields. For help with the fields see below.
  4. Click Create at the bottom.

Field Type

Choose what type of data the field is going to contain. Select from:

  • Text
  • True/False
  • Date
  • Date & Time
  • Decimal
  • Integer

Record Type

This controls which profile the Custom Field will be added to. This can be added to the Contact, Location or Location Asset Profile.

Editing Custom Fields

Editing a Custom Field:

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Under General Settings go to Custom Fields.
  3. Click on the Custom Field you wish to edit, make your changes and press the Update button.

Deleting a Custom Field

How to delete a Custom Field:

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Under General Settings go to Custom Fields.
  3. Click the button.

Using Custom Fields

How to use your Custom Fields:

  1. Navigate to the index page of the record you wish to use your Custom Field with (Contacts, Locations, or Location Assets).
  2. Click on the Record you want to use the Custom Field with.
  3. From the top menu click on the record type button. Example: If you're viewing a Contact click the Contact button.
  4. Select Edit Custom Fields, enter the information, and click Save Changes.
