The Custom Fields area allows you to add additional customized fields to the Contact, Location or Location Asset profiles.
Creating Custom Fields
Creating a new Custom Field:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Under General Settings go to Custom Fields.
- Click the New Custom Field button and fill out the required fields. For help with the fields see below.
- Click Create at the bottom.
Field Type
Choose what type of data the field is going to contain. Select from:
- Text
- True/False
- Date
- Date & Time
- Decimal
- Integer
Record Type
This controls which profile the Custom Field will be added to. This can be added to the Contact, Location or Location Asset Profile.
Editing Custom Fields
Editing a Custom Field:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Under General Settings go to Custom Fields.
- Click on the Custom Field you wish to edit, make your changes and press the Update button.
Deleting a Custom Field
How to delete a Custom Field:
- Navigate to Settings.
- Under General Settings go to Custom Fields.
- Click the button.
Using Custom Fields
How to use your Custom Fields:
- Navigate to the index page of the record you wish to use your Custom Field with (Contacts, Locations, or Location Assets).
- Click on the Record you want to use the Custom Field with.
- From the top menu click on the record type button. Example: If you're viewing a Contact click the Contact button.
- Select Edit Custom Fields, enter the information, and click Save Changes.
